Around the world some countries are easing COVID-19 restrictions including Greece which says that they want to welcome to tourists by this summer.

The tourism minister says it hopes to welcome tourists with social distancing rules in place.

The tourism minister told BBC radio that its travelers may have to undergo coronavirus testing.

Greece has had some of the fewest coronavirus cases in Europe.

According to Greece’s Health Ministry, Greece has reported over 25-hundred coronavirus cases and 138 deaths.

The Greek Prime Minister also announced Tuesday that Greece will start gradually easing lockdown restrictions starting May 4.

Other countries including Australia, New Zealand and a couple of European countries are easing restrictions.

But that does not mean all countries around the world are doing well.

Britain’s Office of National Statistics revealed the death toll in England and Wales was up by 54-percent higher through mid-April than previously reported.

Meanwhile Canada is seeing death spikes even though the disease has spread slowly in the country.

And in Lebanon violent protests are breaking out due to increased hunger and poverty amid the pandemic.

According to Johns Hopkins University, globally the coronavirus has affected over 3 million people and at least 217-thousand have died.
