Today is a sad day.
The world renowned Queen Elizabeth II died late today at the age of 96.
She was the longest ruling monarch in British history.
She was on the throne for 70 years.
She became queen when she was just 25 years old.
She was the Queen of the Commonwealth realm comprised of several countries all over Europe.
This is live video outside of Buckingham Palace.
Despite the rain hundreds of people have gathered there.
Many are crying, others have laid flowers on the ground.
Her family says she died peacefully at her Balmoral home in Scotland.
Early this morning doctors called and urged the royal family to come to her side to see her one last time before she died.
Her son Prince Charles now takes over as the king of England.
This picture was taken just a few days ago as the Queen met and shook hands with Britain’s newly elected prime minister Liz Truss.
The entire royal family was by her side when she died.
And look at this!
Just as the news of the Queen’s passing was announced an beautiful rainbow appeared over Buckingham Palace.
Again Queen Elizabeth died today at the age of 96.
She was on the throne for 70 years.
Recently she had been in declining health and had cancelled her appearance at several events.
And once again here’s a picture outside of Buckingham Palace.
Hundreds of people have converged in front of the palace to pay their respects despite the rain.
And yes the Queen is now reunited with her husband Phillip in heaven.
He died last year.
