Floral designer Lewis Miller is beautifying the streets of New York with surprise displays of flowers for health care workers.
Miller who is owner of floral design company “Lewis Miller Design” calls the giant flower displays “flower flashes.”
Miller originally started the displays because he just wanted to express his creativity and make New Yorkers smile.
But in recent weeks he knew that flower flashes could mean something more.
That’s when he started contributing the flower flashes to workers on the front lines.
Last week Miller and his team created a flower flash outside of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Since Miller and his team didn’t ask the hospital for permission to put up the display, they were quickly told to take it down.
Miller and his team then decided to hand out the flowers to nurses, doctors and other health care workers passing by.
Miller says so many people cried and he was amazed at people’s reaction to receiving flowers.
