If you have plans to travel to Europe this year, you may want to rethink your plans.
According to several European Union (EU) officials, travelers from the US are unlikely to be allowed to visit the EU anytime soon.
Ambassadors from the 27 member states have agreed in principle to the criteria they will apply as the bloc opens up.
Under the current criteria, which takes into account the number of coronavirus cases per 100,000 people in the last two weeks, the US is likely to be excluded.
This agreement is not final and ambassadors still need to consult with their respective governments before any decision is finalized.
A new meeting with EU officials will take place on Monday.
