9-year-old entrepreneur and aspiring jeweler Kamryn Johnson is making a big impact, one bracelet at a time.
Kamyrn and a few of her friends started a summer business selling friendship bracelets in Minneapolis in an effort called “Kamryn & Friends: Bracelets for Unity & Justice.”
The proceeds help black-owned businesses and neighborhoods in Minneapolis affected by the pandemic and protests following the death of George Floyd.
The original goal was to only raise 50 dollars.
But so far the group has raised nearly 100-thousand dollars for businesses and food banks in Minneapolis.
Kamryn’s dad, former NFL player Ron Johnson, says “she has a huge heart” and wants to help in whatever way she can.
And that she and her friends are giving back to their community “in the way they know how.”
